All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin
In 2083, chocolate and coffee are illegal, paper is hard to find, water is carefully rationed, and New York City is rife with crime and poverty. Although Anya's mafia background has proven helpful in hard times she wants nothing to do with her inherited power, but the decision may not be hers.
Gabrielle Zevin is well-known for her ability to create other worlds just beyond our own. She spares no expense in this story involving poison, death, mystery and a star-crossed love.
