Maggie Stiefvater is awesome!
If you don't already know who Maggie is, I suggest you become familiar with her works: Shiver, Linger, Forever, Lament, Ballad and The Scorpio Races. She is a brilliant writer! After meeting her on Friday night I can also say that she is an engaging speaker as well. For more info. check out her website and blog.

Lockdown by Alexander Gordon Smith
When Alex is framed for murder, he becomes an inmate in the Furnace Penitentiary, where brutal inmates and sadistic guards reign. Boys disappear in the middle of the night and sometimes return strangely altered.
Thrilling! Smith does a brilliant job at keeping readers on their toes. Lockdown is mysterious and creative, suspenseful and terrifying. The cliff hanger will leave you desperate for Book 2: Solitary.
